Frequently Asked Questions

Question
I have heard that plasterwalling is good for the sound.  Is this true?

Answer
It depends on the circumstances. Plasterwalling is somewhat good for damping sound, for example between rooms.  However, it isn't good for damping the reverberation in one particular room.

Question
I have heard that wooden ceilings are the best for sound, is this true?

Answer
If the room should be used for long reverberation, such as for choirs, then a wooden ceiling is good. However, if the room needs a short reverberation, for example a living room, kitchen or an office for several people, then a wooden ceiling would not be the best choice.
